Jennifer Roberts, Data Analyst

Data is important. Even more important are excellent data analysts. We are delighted to welcome Jennifer Roberts to the Avelon team.

Jennifer is an excellent data analyst and passionate project manager with a focus on sustainability. She holds a Master of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and is characterized by a high affinity for IT, analytical thinking and acting without losing sight of the big picture. In her past positions, she has acquired a wealth of valuable knowledge in the field of ESG.

What motivates you about your new job?

I particularly like the fact that my job involves several aspects: a very concise analytical side, of course, but also on-site inspections and the development of Avelon’s range of services. The Avelon team is also great, very committed and also very friendly. I love working in such an environment.

What made you switch from the fashion industry to the sustainability sector?

I have always been environmentally friendly, but I was not (yet) really aware of the extent of the current and future damage to nature.

I was actually in cognitive dissonance, probably because the reality was too harsh to accept; the gap between my beliefs and my professional activities was too wide.

In the last few years, however, I have been working intensively on the topic of climate and sustainability. The very strong realization, coupled with the birth of my daughter, made me leave a job, a company and colleagues I loved to start afresh with a Master’s in Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSR).

What fascinates you about ESG and your position as a data analyst?

While a CSR represents the goal and vision of a company, ESG is the reporting that evaluates the non-financial performance of a company. ESG means data and indicators to manage this attitude.

You can’t control what you don’t know, and we make it possible to measure, materialize and concretize the social and ecological responsibility of our customers.

I’m kind of a data geek: I enjoy immersing myself in data and making it talk. You can understand a lot by reading through the numbers.

And last but not least, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Not very original: I’m a bon vivant. I like to eat well, laugh and spend time in nature. Unfortunately, as I live in an apartment, I don’t have a real garden, but I have rebuilt my little piece of nature on my balconies. I like watching plants: they give their all to live, it really is an urge to live. You put some water on a seed and poof, it starts to germinate. I find that admirable, and they teach us a good lesson.

A very warm welcome, dear Jennifer! We are very much looking forward to working with you to drive the topic of ESG and sustainability forward. Your vision will support us in this.
